A TRADITIONAL country show which welcomes thousands of visitors is back for its 15th year.

The Blackwater Country Show was formed in 2006 and is hosted annually in support of the Essex and Herts Air Ambulance.

The past two events were cancelled due to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic.

Now it returns on Sunday, June 19, with a wide range of entertainment, including the dog and duck show, Newfoundland dogs and the Tigers children’s motorcycle display team.

Attractions at the Chigborough Road venue, in Heybridge, include a traditional Ferris wheel, canoeing on the lake, farm animals, clay-shooting and archery.

Craftsmen and producers also come together at the popular event to display and sell their creations.

Visitors can explore the exhibits of potters, walking stick makers, sculptors, bakers, artists and fabric crafters.

There will be a host of savory and sweet treats as well as some award-winning and handcrafted tipples.

A variety of classic cars and bikes will be on display and a collection of vintage and modern agricultural machinery will show how farming has changed through the ages.

The show has raised more than £73,000 in support of the air ambulance charity since it started 16 years ago.

It aims to promote the countryside and country pursuits.
