RESIDENTS at a care home in South Woodham Ferrers are thrilled after it has opened its very own cinema room.

Windle Court's new cinema room is named ‘Withywindle Studios’, a reference to the street it's in.

The room has had a complete refurbishment, including new wallpaper, walnut wood effect venetian blinds, a 65” smart TV, brand new armchairs, coffee tables and sideboard as well as artwork for the finishing touch.

Residents and the care team at Windle Court watched the room being developed with much anticipation so are delighted with the finished result.

Maldon and Burnham Standard:

The cinema has already been put to good use; residents have enjoyed movie nights with popcorn and love the comfortable armchairs and the relaxing setting.

Windle Court’s cinema room will inspire further activities and events for residents to get involved in, whether it's a night at the movies, watching a game, taking part in a church service, group-wide initiatives or home-level events over zoom.

Lorraine Taylor, home manager at Windle Court, said: “I am so pleased that Windle Court now has its own cinema.

Maldon and Burnham Standard:

“The response from residents has been great and its so lovely seeing them able to enjoy it.

“We look forward to hosting regular movie nights in the cinema room and thinking of other wonderful ways we can put it to good use.”

Windle Court also features a café and salon.

The café is designed to provide residents, families and friends a space to meet in a modern and social environment.

The home’s salon enables residents to enjoy a relaxing pamper session and a haircut.
