A POPULAR high street pub is offering a warm welcome to visitors who want to stay overnight with its newly-refurbished rooms.

The White Horse Inn, in Maldon High Street, has finished a stylish refurbishment of its bedrooms after it unveiled a new-look bar area last year.

Wendy Jupp, who has been running the Shepherd Neame pub for three years, began refreshing the look of the pub before the pandemic hit.

She said: "We re-decorated the bar and just finished a few days before the first lockdown.

"I’d only shut for one day to get it done - and then we were forced to close."

The five en-suite guest rooms have a new, warmer colour scheme throughout, using creams and browns to complement the traditional wooden flooring.

Wendy said the en-suite rooms were always popular due to the pub’s location.

"Maldon is the perfect spot to stay for a weekend away...plenty of scope for walking, boating and fishing," she said.

"We also get a lot of guests staying with us as we are conveniently located for wedding venues nearby."

She added: “We are really pleased with the new look of the rooms – our aim is to ensure that our guests enjoy a really special experience with us.”
