A FRUSTRATED driver has said they are "disgusted" with others ignoring the 20mph speed limit in Maldon town centre.
The complaint comes after Essex County Council's bid to make the temporary speed limit permanent.
The authority has proposed a permanent 20mph speed limit for 10 roads in the town centre, as the temporary order expires this year.
It includes the High Street, Market Hill, Fullbridge, Mill Lane, Cromwell Lane, Old Mill Close, Edward Bright Close, Fullbridge Quay, Chandlers Quay and Anchorage Hill.

The temporary limit was applied to these roads in July 2020 as an immediate response to the Covid pandemic to help with social distancing measures.
It's due to expire on July 13.
Despite the limit in place, there are concerns that drivers are ignoring it.
Maldon town councillor Michael Pearlman said he was receiving “daily complaints” from residents and businesses about the constant vehicle problems in the town in August.
He feared the drivers flouting the speed limits are "an accident waiting to happen".
In a letter to the Standard last week a reader shared these concerns.
Alexander Buckley said: "I come into Maldon nearly every day and I am disgusted, as nobody is obeying the 20mph limit.

"The council would make plenty of money for their coffers if they carried out speed checks.
"It would be a bonus if you could even see the police setting up these needed checks.
"As for the Maldon Local Highway Panel, they should get out to see for themselves the speed of the traffic."
In a Standard reader poll residents were split on the permanent speed limit proposal as 57 per cent were in support of the bid.
The statutory order making process will now be undertaken to consider making the town centre roads subject to a permanent 20 mph order.
This process will enable an additional set of public consultation to take place with all stakeholders which will be considered before any decision is undertaken on implementing speed limits as advertised.
