A CARE home has been celebrating its links with the community.

Brewster House care home, in Heybridge, which is run by Runwood Homes, launched a ‘professional engagement’ week.

The week was dedicated to thanking the professional community of nurses, GPs, paramedics and other professional bodies that work hard to help support the home and its residents.

Homes across the Runwood group are taking part to thank the teams that show them support.

Each home is participating in its own way.

Some staff teams hosted coffee mornings for professionals to enjoy on their visits, while others thanked their community with flowers, chocolates and home-made goody bags.

The staff team at Brewster House care home presented their community nurses with flowers, chocolates and sweets.

Brewster House manager Femi Shoyombo, said: “We have received wonderful support from our nurses, some of whom even come to the home after their shift for a chat with our residents.

“We really appreciate them and the hard work they do and were happy to show this appreciation during our professional engagement week.”
