A LOT has changed in the ten years since a hit reality TV show was filmed at the Five Lakes resort in Essex - for both the stars and the venue.

In November 2011, the cast of the famous series The Only Way is Essex arrived for filming at the Crowne Plaza in Tolleshunt D’Arcy.

The original series cast were all on set as the series was in its early years with its third season airing at the time.

They included sisters Sam and Billie Faiers, Joey Essex, Amy Childs and Lucy Mecklenburgh.

Ten years later most of the television personalities have moved on from the show, which is now in its 29th season.

Amy Childs appeared in the first two seasons before securing her own TV show and appearing on Celebrity Big Brother.

After a decade away she returned to TOWIE last year.

Sam and Billie also went on to feature in their own series, The Mummy Diaries, and now The Family Diaries.

Joey Essex has since found fame on a number of reality programmes such as I’m a Celebrity, Educating Joey Essex, and Celebrity Ex on the Beach.

He’s also an ambassador for Child Bereavement UK, as his mother took her own life when he was ten-years-old.

Lucy Mecklenburgh has taken on modelling gigs since finding fame on TOWIE as well as launching a clothing range with PrettyLittleThing in 2015.

The Five Lakes Resort, which was the Crowne Plaza in 2011, has also undergone some changes in the past decade.

Last month it was announced the hotel had been bought by new owners Potters Resorts.

It was run by a family-owned business for 27 years before being taken over by the new firm for an undisclosed sum.

John Potter, head of Potters Resorts, is set to transform the popular venue.
