A TOWN mayor is set to raise vital funds for good causes with a host of charity events.

Maldon mayor David Ogg is inviting residents to join him at his upcoming charity events which promise evenings of entertainment.

The events are in aid of the mayor’s two chosen charities during his year of office – the Sea-Change Sailing Trust and Churches Together.

Mr Ogg will be hosting an opera evening this Saturday at the town hall in Market Hill.

Tickets cost £25 per person, which includes a lasagne dinner and a vegan option is available.
