RESIDENTS are being invited to discuss calls for the reduction of a speed limit on a busy road.

Villagers, Althorne Parish Council and Althorne Community Together have all been asking for a reduction in the speed limit on the B1010 Fambridge Road in Althorne, from 40mph to 30mph, over a period of 20 years.

They say the road is both difficult for pedestrians to cross and dangerous for vehicles turning in and out, and is a serious cause for concern.

Maldon District Council leader Wendy Stamp has now arranged an open forum on this issue with Lee Scott, Essex County Council Cabinet Member for Highways.

The meeting will be held between 1pm to 3pm tomorrow (October 13) in St. Andrew's Church Hall.

Residents are invited to attend and have their views on the issue heard.
