FIVER Fest is set to return to Maldon High Street, giving shoppers the chance to get their hands on some bargains, after past events were hailed a success.
The town is among many others nationwide which take part in the celebration of independent shops and businesses.
June’s fiver fest saw more than 100 towns take part.
High street businesses will be offering £5 deals over the two weeks between Saturday, October 9 and Saturday, October 23.
Fiver Fest is a free to join campaign run by Totally Locally, an organisation which has been helping businesses and high streets since 2010.
It is for independent businesses only which contribute directly into the economy of their town.
Organisers aim to prove “the small guys can compete with the online giants and supermarkets”.
Maldon MP John Whittingdale is backing the campaign.
He said: “Our local, independent businesses play a pivotal role in our community and this will be an excellent opportunity to support them and perhaps discover some new places locally.”
