MALDON Golf Club members and guests gathered en-masse to celebrate the life of former club captain.
Members celebrated well-loved Rob Holland and raised money to research the cruel disease which took him too soon.
His tireless work for the club extended to serving the Essex County Union and coaching young golfers.
A total of 64 players enjoyed competing in a Pairs Betterball Stableford event which was won in fine fashion by Ricky Todd and Steve Littlejohn with a total of 47 points to hold off Peter Hawkins and partner Kaz Chhaya with 46 points.
Thanks must go to the generosity of all those involved on the day to ensure Mesothelioma UK will benefit by upwards of more than £5,000.
