MALDON festival has confirmed its finale weekend after it being rescheduled due to Covid-19...and guests will enjoy extra entertainment.

This year’s finale weekend, rescheduled from July due to Covid, will take place from Friday to Sunday on September 17-19.

In addition to the final concert of Bernstein’s Chichester Psalms featuring the Choir of St Mary’s, Maldon, accompanied by the new organ, two extra items have been added to create a festival weekend.

There will be a concert of music for violin and organ, given by Krassimira Jeliazkova-Jones and Colin Baldy, featuring the famous Adagio by Albinoni alongside music by Bach.

There is also a special choral evensong given by the St James' Singers of Colchester, under their conductor Philip Prior.

The full programme is:

  • Violin and organ recital on Friday, September 17, at 7.30pm
  • Bernstein's Chichester Psalms on Saturday, September 18
  • Free lunchtime organ recital given by Matthew Foster at 1pm on Sunday, September 19
  • Festival Choral Evensong with the St James’s Singers of Colchester at 6pm on Sunday (September 19)

The events will be held at St Mary’s Church.
