A FRIENDSHIP bench was installed by Maldon in Bloom using an anonymous but generous donation.
The Maldon in Bloom team donated the bench which was installed on Thursday, July 29.
The new bench can be found on the Longfield's pathway towards Park Road from Olympic Avenue, in Maldon.
Funds received in 2020 from a generous anonymous donation were used for the friendship bench.
This new addition for the community is hoped to be used and loved by many.
Maldon Town Council's chairman councillor, Flo Shaughnessy said: "Our thanks go to the kind donor and to Debbie Horrey at Maldon District Council for her co-ordination.
"Now locals can pause for a breather on a brand new bench and enjoy the peaceful surroundings."
The brand-new installation was officially unveilled yesterday at 11am.
The town mayor David Ogg, mayoress Sharon Ogg, and members of the committee gathered at the bench to cut the ribbon.
