BOSSES at a new charity store in Maldon say it has been a hit with shoppers.

The RSPCA opened its new shop in the High Street just a few weeks ago and already the support from the community has been widely positive.

A spokesman for the branch said: “Although we have only been open for less than a month we’ve already found the store has been a huge hit with shoppers.

“We offer a fantastic range of items at the shop and all the money raised will be used to help animals who have suffered neglect and ill-treatment in the Essex area covered by our branch.

“We're happy to receive donations, particularly clothing and items of homeware and we have volunteering opportunities for anyone who would like to give some time or get some retail work experience."

And the branch is keen to recruit volunteers at the shop to take on roles such as window dressing or operating the tills.

Volunteers can apply via the branch website or pop along to the shop.

The store is accepting donations which can be dropped off at 76 High Street, Maldon.

Those who want to find out more can contact the branch on 0300 323 0403, email info@rspca-northessex.org.uk or visit the website.

Opening times are 9.30am to 4.30pm Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays and Saturdays and 10am to 4pm on Sundays.
