A FUN-FILLED event at the races in Chelmsford will raise vital funds for Havens Hospices.

The fundraiser set to take place at Chelmsford City Racecourse on August 15 will raise money to support children and young people across Essex with a complex or incurable condition.

And attendees will be able to enjoy the races in a marquee and outside seating area with a buffet lunch of Mediterranean meats and seafood platters.

Tanya King, philanthropy manager at Havens Hospices says: “This event is a great way to spend an afternoon with friends, family, colleagues or entertain clients whilst supporting a local cause.

"In addition to this, if you're looking for the perfect day out for the kids during the summer holidays and fun for all the family, Chelmsford City Racecourse will also be hosting a Family Fun Festival on the day in aid of Havens Hospices with activities and inflatables.

“The charity provides its specialist care within its two hospices or in the home for free but it costs over £81,000 each week to offer this specialist, palliative care. By attending this event you will be helping us raise vital funds so this care can continue ‘Making every day count’ for everyone we care for.”

The event will start at 12pm and tickets cost £48 per person for marquee seating, the buffet, and entrance to the racing track.
