POLICE are appealing for witnesses to an alleged assault on a 17-year-old at Plume Academy.

It was reported that a man jumped over the school gate and punched the victim to the side of his head on Wednesday, May 12.

The alleged assault occurred at around 2.30pm as the teenaged victim was watching a school football match at Plume Academy, Fambridge Road, in Maldon.

Police are now appealing for anyone with information to contact them.

They say the man was last seen heading towards Chequers Lane.

He is described as aged 30s, 5ft 9 or 10 ins tall with slicked brown hair.

At the time of the alleged assault he was wearing a grey jumper and blue jeans.

And he was with another man who was around 20 years-old as they were walking a dog.
