After weeks of recording nearly no Covid cases across the whole of the district, one new cluster has returned to the hotspot map.
Southminster, Bradwell and Dengie Peninsula has been added to the map.
Areas are only shown on the government's hotpot map when there are three or more new cases reported at any one time.
All areas have recorded less than three cases in the last seven days and the virus is classes as "suppressed" in these areas.
They are not recorded on the Covid hotspots map any longer.
Last week Public Health England identified the first case of the Indian variant in Maldon.
The health body has been tracking the spread of the mutation – which originated in India – by testing positive Covid-19 cases across the country for an 'S-gene'.
The gene is not present in the dominant Kent variant, which was responsible for a surge in cases over the winter, but is present in other variants of concern, including those from India.

However, the infection rate in Maldon remains low at 6.2 per 100,000 people.
Portugal was moved from the green list to the amber list following the Government’s update on Thursday.
The decision to move the country, including Madeira and the Azores, follows increasing concern over the spread of Covid-19 variants, including a mutation of the Delta variant.
