THERE are now less than 10 cases of Covid in the Maldon district, figures show.
According to Government data, In the seven days leading up to March 11, Maldon’s infection rate stood at 9.2 per 100,000 with 6 cases.
Mayland, Althorne & Cold Norton has the highest infection rate with 28.1 per 100,000.
Burnham-on-Crouch, Southminster, Bradwell & Dengie Peninsula, Great Totham, Wickham Bishops & Woodham, Maldon North, Maldon South, Heybridge, and Tollesbury, Tolleshunt & Goldhanger have fewer than three cases.
For smaller areas with case numbers like these, the Government do not show data to protect individuals' identities.
Maldon is one of the only places in England at the moment with less than ten cases, including Rother in East Sussex, and areas in Devon.
