THE Covid infection rates in the Maldon district have seen a steady decline during the third lockdown.
According to Government figures, in the seven days leading up to January 1, the infection rate stood at 993 per 100,000, four days before the third national lockdown.
There were also 645 cases recorded.
By the time the lockdown kicked in on January 5, infection rates and cases saw a small decrease.
In the week ending January 8, the infection rate was at 887.2 per 100,000 with 576 cases.
However, figures decreased as the positive effects of the lockdown took place.
By January 15, infection rates were at 523.7 per 100,000 with 340 cases.
By January 22, infection rates were at 389.7 per 100,000 with 253 cases.
By January 29, infection rates were at 214.1 per 100,000 with 139 cases.
By February 6, infection rates were at 141.7 per 100,000 with 92 cases.
A plan on easing restrictions is set to be published by the Government on February 15.
