Two commemorative benches have been unveiled in Buckhurst Hill.
One bench has been erected in recognition of the vital work made by all NHS and front-line workers during the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic.
The other commemorates the 75th anniversary of VE Day which was celebrated earlier this year.
Both can be found outside the Waitrose in Queen's Road.
The benches were funded by a share of the £10,000 Locality Fund money allocated to Buckhurst Hill and Loughton South county councillor Valerie Metcalfe to spend on initiatives in her Division and Waitrose's Community Matters initiative.
Two-thirds of the cost was met by the Locality Fund – after each county councillor was given £10,000 to spend on projects within their area – with one-third coming from the Waitrose scheme.
