A woman and her cocker spaniel were injured after they were attacked by another dog on Friday.
Essex Police are appealing for information following report of a dog being allowed to be dangerously out of control and injuring someone.
A woman and her son were walking their black cocker spaniel dog in Merrymeade Park in Brentwood, at about 1.20pm on January 15 when their dog was attacked by a brown and white pointer-type dog that was off its lead.
The woman was injured when she tried to separate the dogs.
The cocker spaniel required treatment for an ear injury, and the dog owner suffered a puncture wound to the hand.
The pointer may have been called Louie and was wearing a multi-coloured woven collar.
Essex Police say the pointer’s owner was present nearby but left the area soon after. He is described as a white man, aged around 45-years-old, 5ft 5ins tall and wearing a light blue puffer or bomber-style jacket and a beanie hat.
It is believed that a family were also in the park at the same time and may have witnessed the dog attack.
If you witnessed the incident or have any information about the dog and its owner, please call Essex Police on 101 quoting the crime reference number 42/8145/21.
