AN art exhibition inspired by the delights of Maldon’s Promenade Park is relaunching after being forced to closed during the second national coronavirus lockdown.

George Kowzan’s Blackwater Dreaming Again exhibition at the Maeldune Heritage Centre, in Market Hill, Maldon, has reopened with even more artwork for residents to see.

The exhibition is based on George’s thoughts and emotions after spending the last year living in Maldon.

Its first run had to close within a matter of days when the Government announced the second national lockdown would begin in November.

George said: “My exhibition was only open for five days before the national lockdown.

“It attracted a great deal of interest and six sales during those five days.

“My ceramic mosaic views of the Blackwater from the Prom have proved particularly popular, and I have made more artwork to fill the gaps from the sold work.”

The additional artwork was inspired by George’s walks in Prom Park, including by the recent high tide, which left a number of people stranded in the water.

George added: “I think that the exhibition will help to lift spirits as we celebrate a little more freedom, and enter the harsher winter months.”

The exhibition is open until December 23 at the heritage centre.
