A RHYL-BASED charity has made a young boy living with a lifelong condition's dreams come true by providing him with a specially-made trike.

Due to the fact that he has Cerebral Palsy, which affects his movement and co-ordination, twelve-year-old Anthony Sargerson, has never been able to ride a standard bike.

This meant that Anthony, who is from Rhyl, would miss out on the opportunity to join in with any bike rides with friends and family.

As a result of this, family members, including cousin Lauren Jones, had been fundraising to buy him a new trike.

When local fundraising group Belief heard of Anthony's story, they stepped in to purchase an Aurai low step, six speed electric trike for him. This has since given him the opportunity to ride freely and do something many of us will have taken for granted.

Belief's Steve Evans said: "Seeing young Anthony's face light up when he sat on and rode the bike was amazing. It's why we do what we do!

"We first found out about Anthony when his cousin Lauren Jones set up a JustGiving page for him, which raised around £200. We then agreed they could instead use that money to buy any necessary safety equipment he will need, such as helmets and locks."

Belief recently presented the trike to Anthony who was joined by mum Danielle and grandmother Tania on the day.

Mr Evans added: "Anthony and his family are delighted to have received the trike. A huge thanks must go to all our members and supporters for helping to make this happen."

Belief is also committed to helping out local food banks. Mr Evans says it was a 'great pleasure' to once again visit the Prestatyn and Meliden group (above) with a donation of items recently.

He said: "With another lock down approaching, and many people, through no fault of their own falling on hard times, never has there been such demand. Here's hoping our donation helps."
