A pizza restaurant is set to expand after a successful lockdown.

While Label Detroit Pizza plans to open another premises in Bentals Shopping Centre in Heybridge.

After opening the business during lockdown, Aiden Fraser and business partner Paul Boorman, are raising money to help open their new premises.

The duo opened after not being able to find the perfect takeaway pizza, so decided to design their own.

They created a unique style, a pizza with corners and decided to open up their first site in Hatfield Peveral for take away and delivery.

Aiden said: "During lockdown we found ourselves without the work we normally did and put our heads together and here we are.

"The pizzas come in our signature oven ready tins, to be cooked at home by you as and when you want.

"The main complaints we found from people ordering from big companies were that the pizzas were late and cold.

"So many of our customers plan days in advance when they intend to enjoy our pizzas, and so collect the day before to keep in the fridge ready for exactly when they want them.

The duo are hoping to open their next premises in November.

Aiden, who grew up in Maldon and attended Plume Academy, added:"Bentals is crying out for somewhere that can host community events and be open during the day.

"We feel a duty to continue our community involvement here. Our space will be available for visitors to all shops within the complex.

"Our pizza's are completely different to anything else on the market at the moment and we want to approach everything in a unique way.

"To date the 3000 or so hand-crafted pizzas sold have all been 'oven ready' collected from Hatfield Peverel for our customers to cook at home themselves."
