A FUNFAIR has moved into an old park-and-ride in Penhill.
Lorries and other vehicles have been spotted around a funfair in the old Groundwell park-and-ride off Cricklade Road.
Owner Steven Hill of Steven Hill Funfairs told the Adver that he had permission to host the attraction there for the next two weekends.
He said: "I’ve been on-site cleaning it and picked bags of rubbish up, I will be at it all week to make it clean for everyone.
"I’m very proud to be a showman and have a very good working relationship with Swindon Borough Council, who I’ve worked with for over 30 years paying rental for sites.
"I've just been open at the Link Centre with my my fair, all Covid-secure."
A witness initially claimed the new arrivals were travellers and that police were at the scene of the park-and-ride on Monday, though this was later found to be untrue and a Wiltshire Police spokeswoman said there was nothing on their logs about being called to the scene.
Swindon Borough Council has not yet responded to the Adver's request for more information.
