A MAN has denied having a cricket bat without reasonable excuse in a public place.
Kadeem Ackeda Devere Stephens appeared before magistrates in Barrow where he also denied a charge of using threatening, abusive or insulting words or behaviour with intent to cause people to believe that immediate unlawful violence would be used.
Mr Stephens, 28, of Ghyll Head, Bowness, is alleged to have committed the offences on January 12 this year on Glebe Road, Bowness.
He will next appear for his trial on October 27 at South Cumbria Magistrates Court.
