A MAN has been jailed for breaching a criminal behaviour order after being found in a teenager’s home in Maldon.

Thomas Thorpe-Keen, 21, of Creasen Butt Close, Heybridge, was sentenced to 16 weeks in prison at Colchester Magistrates’ Court.

He received no separate penalty for another count of breaching a criminal behaviour order.

Thorpe-Keen was made subject of a three-year order that prohibited him from associating and contacting anyone aged under 18, unless they were a family member, in May this year.

He was also barred from inviting anyone under 18 who is not related to him into his home and banned from attending Plume Academy in Maldon, Oak Tree Meadow Park and McDonald's in Fullbridge.

At about 2.20am on June 8, a woman went downstairs to check on her 16-year-old daughter and found she was with a man in their lounge.

Thorpe-Keen ran out of the property leaving a number of items of clothing behind, along with his DNA.

Police found he had contacted the girl through social media, which is a breach of his order.

He was arrested on June 11.

Sergeant Graham Thomas, of Chelmsford and Maldon community policing team, said: “Thorpe-Keen poses a risk to young people and to help protect people in the community, he was made subject of a three-year order with many requirements.

"Thorpe-Keen’s repetitive offending is causing harm in our communities.

"Within two weeks, he showed a complete disregard for the order by sneaking into a family home with a teenage girl in the early hours of the morning.

“Obtaining a criminal behaviour order through the courts, which restricts the movements and actions of a person, is never easy and they are only approved when there is overwhelming evidence that an offender’s actions is causing significant harm.

"Thorpe-Keen will have time to reflect on his actions in prison. If he breaches his order once he is released, he faces an even longer sentence."
