A photographer has captured the stunning moment a group of Apache helicopters flew over Basingstoke.
Gazette Camera Club member Darren Burton snapped the pictures just around 10pm Thursday night as many around town wondered what the noise was all about.
"Are we going to war," he joked.
"Few pics of a couple of Apache helicopters circling over my house, check that heavy artillery."
Others joined in to say this wasn't the first time the helicopters had been seen in town this week.
"Two of these came over the farm really low yesterday (Wednesday), gave the poor horses a start," one person wrote.
"They weren't much above the tree line."
It is believed that the Apaches were overhead as part of an training exercise, but the Army have been contacted to clarify the exact reason.
