A campaign to recognise family carers in the community has been launched during Carers Week.

Action for Family Carers, based in Maldon have launched 'Making Caring Visible' this week to recognise the thousands of people who take on the care of relatives and friends.

James Clarke, Chief Executive said; "There are over 7,000 people in Maldon who look after someone who otherwise couldn’t manage.

"These are challenging times for many people and for these unpaid family Carers looking after a loved one with dementia or a learning disability it is especially hard.

"Our community relies on these hidden heroes who are managing to keep caring without any real break at this time.

"Carers Week is an ideal time to recognise our local Carers and to make sure that they know Action for Family Carers is here to help."

Action for Family Carers are supporting carers across Essex with a host of activities this week.

Maldon CVS are sending our treat packs with cakes and plants to Carers across Maldon

They are hosting live online Feeling Good Caring Well sessions on their website and Cake for Carers tea parties are being held virtually throughout the week and so much more.
