Natural fast food brand Leon has turned into a mini-supermarket in a bid to help residents struggling to buy food in the wake of the coronavirus outbreak.

Leon, on Wimbledon Hill Road, is staying open 7 days a week to help customers in need of supplies.

The fast-food chain announced the initiative last week, on March 25, and hopes to cater to hundreds of residents in the coming weeks.

The mini-supermarket includes everything from ready-made meals, sauces, meats and other foods that customers can then store and eat at home.

Helen Clark Bell,CEO of business improvement district, Love Wimbledon, said: "The Leon mini-supermarket is an example of businesses diversifying their offering by adding healthy essential pantry and larder items to their ready-made meals.

"We would like to thank the frontline staff of Leon and other Wimbledon Town Centre businesses for continuing to work hard to get food to people."
