TWO more patients have died at Furness General Hospital after testing positive for coronavirus, hospital bosses have confirmed.
The University Hospitals of Morecambe Bay NHS Foundation Trust issued a statement at 7.50pm confirming the deaths of three patients.
Aaron Cummins, Chief Executive for University Hospitals of Morecambe Bay NHS Foundation Trust said: "We can confirm that, sadly, a further three patients have died who tested positive for COVID-19 whilst being treated at our hospitals.
“They were a man aged 72 being treated at the Royal Lancaster Infirmary, an 83-year old man being treated at Furness General Hospital, and a 92-year-old woman who died at FGH.
"They all had underlying health conditions and died in the past two days.
"Our thoughts and condolences remain with the patients’ families and loved ones, and we would ask that their privacy is respected at this difficult time."
