A RETAIL employee has praised hospital workers for their consideration when shopping at special hours during the coronavirus disruption.
Tesco worker Sarah Yedlham said a massive ‘thank you’ to NHS staff who visited the store in Fullbridge as it opened early for the key workers.
She said: “Despite being absolutely swamped by shoppers, they were all so polite and patient.
“I was overwhelmed by how many workers thanked Tesco for their part in this, especially the staff for their resilience and positiveness – it was humbling!
“While management have been very supportive and appreciative, to hear it from other frontline workers really made my day.”
The store introduced a special hour before normal opening times so NHS staff could buy essentials without worrying about shortages later in the day.
A spokesman said: “We know those working for the NHS may be finding it hard to find time to shop for their groceries at the moment so we introduced a special hour in stores for NHS staff every Sunday as a thank you for all they are doing."
