POLICE have made fresh arrests in connection with a series of ram raids in mid Essex.

A 26-year-old man from Braintree has been arrested on suspicion of burglary, possession of drugs and theft of a vehicle and a 22-year-old man from Little Baddow was also arrested on suspicion of burglary.

The pair were taken into custody on Thursday, March 19, and have since been released under investigation.

It follows reports an ATM was ripped from the wall and stolen from Honeysuckle Stores, in Honeysuckle Way, Witham, on November 13, 2018.

The arrests were also connected to attempts to take an ATM from McColls, in High Street, Southminster, on 11 January, 2019, and North Heath Service Station in Chelmsford Road, Norton Heath, on in December 2018

Three other men aged 23, 26 and 31 have been arrested in connection with these attempted burglaries and they continue to remain under investigation.
