BRIGHTLINGSEA Regent have a cup semi-final in their sights.

Kem Izzet's men cross the Kent border for a Velocity Trophy quarter-final at Folkestone Invicta tonight.

The BetVictor Isthmian League premier division pair will meet in a last-eight tussle at the BuildKent Stadium, kicking-off at 7.45pm.

Regent have already defeated Histon and Enfield Town in the knockout stages of the competition and will be in need of a fillip, after Saturday's 1-0 loss at Cray Wanderers.

Joseph Taylor's ninth-minute goal condemned them to a narrow defeat and it was a result that left them bottom of the table, deep in relegation trouble.

However, the R's will be looking to put those worries behind them tonight and continue their progress in the Velocity Trophy.

If they win, they will face Bracknell Town, after the Berkshire side eliminated Maldon and Tiptree on penalties, following a 0-0 draw.

The other semi-final will be between Horsham and Cheshunt, after they enjoyed quarter-final success against Margate and Worthing respectively.

That game has already been scheduled for next Tuesday, March 17.

Elsewhere tonight, division north leaders Maldon will be hoping to stretch their huge lead at the summit when they entertain Cambridge City.

Wayne Brown's Jammers are already 14 points clear with a game in hand on second-placed Tilbury.

There is also an eye-catching derby as Coggeshall Town, in sixth, welcome neighbours Witham Town to West Street.

One step down the non-league pyramid, it's also a busy night in the Thurlow Nunn League.

Among the games, Stanway Rovers, in third, go to fifth-placed Wroxham.

FC Clacton welcome Woodbridge Town to the Austin Arena while Brantham Athletic have a tough match at runaway leaders Stowmarket Town, in the Suffolk Premier Cup.
