Essex Freemasons are funding free health screening tests for men.

The campaign takes place on Thursday, April 30 at Essex County Cricket Ground in Chelmsford where medical experts will test for prostate and skin cancer, heart disease and aortic aneurisms.

The scheme is free and open to all residents aged 40 to 74.

Freemason Rodney Bass said: “I am delighted we have agreed to underwrite the cost of this programme and would urge all men who live in Essex to book themselves in.

“We have been involved in similar schemes in the past but understand that cost, particularly for those on restricted incomes, may have been a factor in preventing some from taking part, which is why we have agreed to cover these charges.”
