DRUGS, money and a sword were seized after police swooped on a property in South Woodham Ferrers.

The Chelmsford and Maldon community policing team searched the address after executing a warrant on Monday morning.

A 17-year-old youth was arrested on suspicion of intent to supply cocaine and cannabis.

He was later released under investigation.

Among the paraphernalia was a medieval-style broadsword.

A police spokesman said: “South Woodham Ferrers will be a little better safer today after the team executed a warrant at an address early this morning and found this stash.”

The team completed 222 stop and search operations, solved more than 200 crimes, and investigated more than 300 instances of anti-social behaviour in January.

One of their priorities this month is tackling drug dealing in South Woodham Ferrers.
