A DISABILITY charity is gearing up for the opening of its newest shop in Rhyl.

Sense will open up a shop on Friday, February 28 at 48 - 50 High Street.

To tie in with the town’s link with the Beatles, popular tribute act The Mersey Beatles will perform. The Beatles held their first concert in the North Wales resort in July 1962 at the Regent Dansette Ballroom.

A ribbon cutting will be carried out by Angharad Rhodes, who plays Melody in CBeebies programme Melody. Angharad is partially sighted.

Damian Field, who works for Sense, said: “Sense shops are about more than raising vital funds to support people with complex disabilities, they’re also important hubs for the community, where people can connect. This is reflected by the fantastic opening event we have planned, which will see excellent Mersey Beatles play a full set, and CBeebies star, Angharad Rhodes, cutting the ribbon.

“We hope lots of people come out to support the opening and enjoy the celebration”.”

The ribbon cutting will be at 10am.

The Mersey Beatles will perform between 10.15am and 11am.

Angharad will remain in shop for majority of the morning and early afternoon to engage young people during their visits.
