The Flood Information Service has issued a warning for areas of Maldon.
Flooding around the Maldon town waterfront and the Hythe are expected later this morning which will require immediate action.
The alert said: “This message has been issued because there is a possibility of some flooding of homes and businesses between 11.45am and 1.45pm on February 10.
“High tides are expected as spring tides coincide with a surge.
“Areas most at risk are Chandlers Quay, Chelmer Terrace, the Hythe and promenade park.
“Take care on coastal roads and footpaths and don't put yourself in danger. We will continue to monitor the situation and will reissue this message for any subsequent tides if required.”
