FOR our district to be ranked in the top five places to live in the whole of the UK is a real feather in Maldon’s cap.

The Halifax Quality of Life survey looks at a slew of factors, such as education, health, housing, employment and the environment.

Affordability, safety and access to parks and green spaces also feature high on people’s wish-lists when searching for somewhere to put down roots.

Of course, many who live and work in the district will be unsurprised that Maldon has made it into the top ten.

It is, after all, a wonderful part of the country with stunning scenery and lovely towns and villages.

Now the rest of the UK has been let into our little secret – that the district is already happily living the dream.
