A MORRIS dancing group is appealing for new members to step forward.

The Maldon Greenjackets are one the three renowned morris dancing groups in the district.

Formed in 1988, it was originally made an all-male team, but since 2000 it has been a mixed group or “side”.

They perform dances mainly in the Cotswold tradition.

They dance with hankies or sticks to accompany the hand movements and dances are usually for six or eight people.

In a bid to attract new members, the group is holding a taster session on Tuesday, January 28.

The session will be held in the URC hall from 8pm until 10pm.
