ESSEX Wildlife Trust has highlighted one of the best nature reserves to enjoy a stroll this winter.
Blue House Farm, in North Fambridge, is a magnet for birdwatchers and members of the public are being encouraged to visit to see come out and have a look at the migrating birds.
There are three bird hides at the reserve where bird-lovers can try spot golden plover, dunlin and teal.
There are also noisy flocks of up to 2,000 wintering dark-bellied brent geese, the site’s main attraction.
An Essex Wildlife Trust spokesman said: “Winter is one of the most magical times of the year to go for a wild walk and appreciate the natural wonders of Essex.
“The crisp mornings, the crunchy frost underfoot, the whistling wind and the symphony of wintering wildfowl makes for a truly special experience.”
