RESIDENTS are being urged to promote a library after several groups have started to use the venue for their gatherings.
The Friends of Wickham Bishops Library shared news about the activities they have going on in a bid to encourage more people to join or start their own club.
So far, two groups have started and there are plans to accommodate more.
A spokesman said: “The ‘Warhammer Alliance’ modelling club has met twice, running under the auspices of the Scout Group and interest in this is increasing.
“The group meets on the third Saturday of each month, so the next meeting is January 18 from 1.30pm to 3.30pm.
“The computer coding club has also started, teaching children to design and create computer programs.
“This is an activity already promoted by Essex Libraries in other branches and a welcome addition to our library.
“It is hoped that the Ancestry Tracing group, another service offered elsewhere by Essex Libraries, will start early in 2020, along with a ‘Beginner’s Bridge’ club, a Men’s Reading group and a ‘Scrabble’ club.
“In readiness, the latter group has its own email address of scrabbleclub@yahoo.com and enquiries are welcome.”
