A popular High Street pharmacy was broken into in the early hours of this morning.
Boots Pharmacy on High Street, Halstead was broken into between 3.45am and 4am this morning.
Police were called to the business with reports of suspects entering the property.
Burglars entered the business by smashing a section of the glass front door.
They entered the property before taking items from inside the shop.
A spokesperson from Essex Police said: "We received reports of a burglary at Boots, in High Street, Halstead, this morning, Wednesday, 11 December.
"We received information that suspects entered the business between 3.45am and 4am before taking items from inside.
"The suspects smashed a glass section of the front door to enter.
"Enquiries are ongoing."
There were also reports of smoke coming from the building.
