A DRIVE-IN cinema will be finishing this year’s season of films with a Christmas classic.

The Essex Al Fresco Cinema will be showing the film Elf at Maldon’s Promenade Park on Saturday, December 14, in the afternoon.

The 2003 film stars Will Ferrell as Buddy – a human raised among elves at the North Pole.

When he discovers that he is not an elf, he travels to New York to search for his biological father.

The project is run by family and friends from the community who aim to provide a great experience for residents.

A spokesman said: “As part of attending Essex Al Fresco Cinema events you will find a variety of concessions onsite to make your night that extra bit fulfilling, so whether you treat yourself to a couple of cheeky Proseccos or tuck into some lovely sugary doughnuts the main thing is you come and enjoy an evening with us full of fun, food and film.”

Tickets are £24.95 for a standard vehicle with up to five people or £32.50 for a large vehicle which fits more than five people.

The gates open at 12.30pm and the film will be screened at 2pm.
