A ROAD is now cleared after an accident involving multiple cars happened this morning.
In Danbury, the accident involving four vehicles near Maldon Road/A414.
Police were at the scene of the collision and asked drivers to avoid the area.
A spokesman said: “We were called just after 10.45am this morning (December 2) to reports of a four-vehicle collision on the A414 near to the junction of Well Lane.
“A lorry and three cars were involved in the incident.
“We are currently trying to establish the level of injury at the scene and the road remains closed at this time.
“Drivers are advised to avoid the area.
“Anyone who has dash cam footage, or witnessed the collision, is asked to call 101 and quote incident 365 of 2 December.”
Two fire crews from Chelmsford and one from Maldon also attended the scene.
A spokesman said: “On arrival crews confirmed that four vehicles were involved in the incident, including one heavy goods vehicle.
“One woman was left trapped following the collision.
“Firefighters managed to release the woman by 11.42am, before leaving her in the care of the Ambulance Service.”
