IT is a rare enough sight when a new independent business opens on a high street.
It is even rarer to see that business is a bookshop.
But Olivia Rosenthall’s dream of opening her own independent bookshop is coming true.
With high streets up and down the country struggling, there needs to be public support for such projects.
According to the Booksellers Association, the industry contributed £1.3 billion to the UK economy between 2015-16.
Far from struggling, it’s flourishing.
However, all our independent shops needs the community’s support to survive in the dog-eat-dog world of the retail giants.
