A YOUNG girl who made a heart-warming gesture in memory of war victims has raised money for charity.
Ten-year-old Charlotte Rigler, of Arcadia Road, Burnham, crocheted poppies and sold them to raise £110 for the Royal British Legion.
Charlotte took up crocheting as a hobby when she saw poppies in a catalogue.
She then decided to use her talent to make some herself and sell them to friends and family.
Charlotte formally presented a cheque to Burnham town mayor Wendy Stamp and poppy appeal organiser Jim Cousins as a donation to this year’s poppy appeal.
She was supported by her younger brother, her parents and grandparents.
