COMMENT: Time to speak out and catch scammers
THERE are a number of stories in today’s Standard warning of scammers.
Sadly cold calls, fraudulent messages and con artists affect hundreds of people every week.
Elderly and vulnerable residents in Goldhanger and Woodham Walter found justice when crook Elijah King was jailed for 11 years.
He went as far as scaring people into inviting him into their homes.
There are other residents out there who may not have found justice as they do not know where to turn or how to speak out about a potential crime.
It is important for elderly and vulnerable residents to take advice from Essex Trading Standards and police in order to stay safe. There is a way to put an end to these scams.
