A village shop fighting loneliness had a special guest visit from a police officer this week.
The police community support officer visited the Meet Up Monday (MupM) group at the Village Shop in Bradwell who are tackling isolation.
A spokesman said: “She shared information with us and was amazed at how successful MupMs is doing and how it helps people who would otherwise be alone.
“Each of our members have lovely stories to tell and share their experiences with each other.
“It’s difficult to explain but the feeling it gives each one of us is wonderful - it’s good to talk and share.”
The shop provides free tea, coffee and biscuits to guests following an initiative started by a pub landlord in Suffolk.
The spokesman added: “This has brought many people together and there is lots of laughter and many topics discussed.”
The coffee meet-up takes place every Monday from 10am to noon.
