A BIG-HEARTED schoolgirl said farewell to her long locks on her birthday to help a charity.

Ormiston Rivers Academy pupil Jasmine’s hair was almost down to her waist.

But she decided to donate her hair to charity as her birthday wish.

Jasmine, who lives in Burnham, wanted a change to mark her step up to secondary school.

She donated 12 inches of her hair to the Little Princess Trust on her 12th birthday.

The charity makes wigs for children who have lost their own hair after cancer treatment

Jasmine got her locks cut at Matrix Hair Art for free.

She smashed her £500 sponsorship target, raising a massive £655.

Mum Denise Waller said: “Jasmine’s always had long hair since she was a baby.

“It was already long, and she was adamant about donating it. She wanted a change and seeing her friends doing it motivated her – she loves it.”
