A NATIONAL campaign which helps web surfers get the most out of the internet comes to Maldon next week.

Get Online Week is running from October 14-20 and will give residents a chance to improve their online skills.

The Maldon Digital Buddies project is hosting a series of events throughout the week.

Maldon and District CVS director Sarah Troop said: “Almost 12 million people in the UK don’t have all the skills they need to make the most of the internet, and more than four million people are completely offline.

“We’re doing our bit to help bring these numbers down.

“People are invited to attend any of our free events to find out more or to sign up as a digital buddy to help others.”

The first event is at the Harbour coffee morning from 10am to noon on Mondayat the Octagon in Maldon.

On Wednesday, the Community 360 charity will hold a drop-in at Heybridge from 10am to noon and the Moat Foundation is hosting an event on October 17 from 10am to noon at its centre in Fullbridge.
